Driver dies in tragic truck accident

A truck driver on Nebraska Highway 8 died in a tragic motor vehicle accident last Thursday about a half mile east of Odell, a report from The Beatrice Daily Sun said.

The cause of the accident was apparently a deer, which collided with the semi truck, hitting the upper portion of the hood and crashing through the windshield actually striking the driver. The driver swerved and overturned the truck. Fortunately, no other motor vehicles were involved in the crash.

The number of trucking accidents on our nations roadways continue to increase each year. Though this one likely had nothing to do with driver carelessness or fatigue, many do.
