A touching story from Omaha's KETV 7 covers the story of a man who saved a baby from drowning in a bathtub less than two weeks before his own death in a motor vehicle accident on Christmas Eve.

The man performed CPR on a 10-month-old who had stopped breathing after going underwater in a bathtub where the mother had left the room. He performed CPR on the baby and saved his life, according to reports.

The same man who was called a hero died on Christmas Eve when the SUV he was driving hit a guard rail and flipped over on the interchange from the Storz Expressway to southbound Highway 75. The cause of the accident is unknown. A passenger, who was injured, survived the car crash.

The victim's aunt said her nephew believed that the purpose for his life was complete after saving the child:

"He felt that there was a purpose for him being there and for him wanting to help and it made him proud and it made him happy he was able to do something positive for somebody else," said Micki Baladino.
