When you or a loved one is involved in a car accident, if you are injured it is important that you seek treatment immediately. Insurance companies and their attorneys frequently refuse to pay the fair value of a claim when the injured party waits a long time after the accident to seek treatment. The common argument that they use is "if someone is really injured, then he or she will go and see their doctor." This argument seems to work with juries, too. Don't seek treatment if you're not really hurt. However, if you are hurt, do not wait around to get the treatment that you need.
