Another tragic motor vehicle accident happened Tuesday when a woman exiting her car was hit by a semi-trailer and killed. The car was heading from Mississippi to Nebraska, a report from the Kansas City Star said

Apparently the driver of the car lost control and hit a guardrail twice, causing the airbags to deploy as she rounded a curve. As she exited her vehicle, an 18-wheeler traveling in the right lane struck her. The car's passenger suffered minor injuries.

This terrible story is a sad reminder to stay safe and be aware while driving, especially during the busy holiday season. If you must pull over on a busy roadway, be sure to exercise extreme caution when exiting your vehicle.
